This policy describes how Wasatch Media Co — a brand of Wasatch Marketing Media LLC (Utah) — handles personal information collected through wasatchmediaco.com and the studio's services. We're a one-operator studio. We don't sell data, run ad networks, or build profiles to resell. The information you give us is used to do the work you've hired us for.
What we collect
Information you give us directly
When you submit the contact form or the listing-audit form, we collect:
- Name — required.
- Email address — required, so we can reply.
- Phone number — optional.
- Company / brokerage — optional, for context.
- Listing URL — only on the listing-audit form, used to deliver the audit you requested.
- Message / project details — whatever you choose to share so we can scope the work.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site (which pages, how long, on what device). Analytics data is anonymized at the network level and never includes your name, email, or phone. We use it to know whether the studio's work resonates and where to put effort.
We don't use advertising cookies on this site. We don't use third-party retargeting pixels (no Facebook Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight Tag, etc.).
How we use it
- Reply to your inquiry — every form submission goes to a real human (Dan).
- Deliver the work you hired us for — that includes sending photos, sharing project files, scheduling shoots, and invoicing.
- Improve the site — analytics tells us which content earns the click and which falls flat.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. Period.
Who we share it with
We use a few third-party services to run the studio. Each only sees the information needed to do its job:
- Netlify — hosts the website and processes form submissions. Form data passes through Netlify's servers en route to our inbox. Netlify privacy policy ↗
- Google Analytics 4 — provides anonymized site usage data. Google privacy policy ↗
- Calendly — handles scheduling when you book a call. If you book through Calendly, your name, email, and any details you provide go to Calendly. Calendly privacy policy ↗
- Google (Gmail / Workspace) — our business email runs on Google. Replies you send and receive live in Gmail.
- Square — invoicing and payment processing. If you pay an invoice, your card and billing info goes to Square, not us. Square privacy policy ↗
If law enforcement or a court legally compels disclosure, we'll comply — but we'll tell you about it unless legally prohibited from doing so.
How long we keep it
- Form submissions — kept in our inbox indefinitely so we can reference past conversations. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.
- Project files — kept as long as we maintain the working relationship plus a reasonable archive period (typically 5–7 years) so we can deliver re-exports if you need them. Deleted on request.
- Analytics data — retained per Google Analytics' default 14-month rolling window.
Your rights
You can:
- Ask what we have on you. Email and we'll send a copy.
- Ask us to correct or delete it. We'll do it within 30 days unless we have a legal reason not to (open invoices, ongoing projects, etc.) and we'll tell you the reason.
- Opt out of analytics. Browser-level settings or a tool like the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on ↗ blocks GA4 from tracking you.
- Reach out about anything else. If you live somewhere with stronger privacy laws (California, the EU, etc.) and have specific requests, mention the law and we'll handle it.
Children
This site isn't directed at anyone under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a minor has submitted information through one of our forms, email us and we'll delete it.
Cookies
The site uses cookies for two things:
- Google Analytics cookies (`_ga`, `_gid`) — measure traffic and behavior anonymously.
- Calendly cookies — only set when you interact with the embedded scheduling widget on the contact page.
No advertising cookies, no tracking pixels.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS with HSTS enforced. Form data is transmitted encrypted in transit. Behind the scenes, we use Gmail and Drive (Google Workspace) which carry their own security guarantees, plus access controls limited to the operator. No data system is bulletproof — we follow reasonable practices and mention here that absolute security is impossible to promise.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data — for example, adding a new service that touches your information — we'll update this policy and bump the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the site for at least 30 days before taking effect.
